GOODMAN KUNCHI EAST CHINA NEW-RETAIL HUB is located at Suzhou Road/Liuzhou Road in Changshu City, jointly developed by Goodman China and Kunchi Group. The project occupies a site area of 65,108 m² with total floor space reaching 80,000 m², including approximately 10,000 m² dedicated to office buildings. FORRARE ARCHITECTS completed the design scope in 2021, encompassing the logistics warehouse façades plus the office building's architecture and interior design.
This initiative aims to infuse traditional warehouses with new identity and character through distinctive design language. Building upon the site's original fabric, we integrated architectural forms with greenery and water features to create harmonious human-environment coexistence. This approach revitalizes dormant industrial heritage with renewed vitality.
The office building adopts an "Openness to Nature" design philosophy, prioritizing unobstructed light flow and organic integration of natural landscapes. Through lightweight massing and permeable interfaces, the structure embeds seamlessly into the landscape system. This achieves fluid indoor-outdoor transitions while reducing visual dominance over the warehouse complex, establishing balanced architectural dialogue.
